AMPERE Fitted, Raw dB, and Derived Product Data (Monthly)
The daily raw dB NetCDF files are the derived magnetic perturbations relative to Earth's main field that we use as input to the spherical harmonic fit and radial current density inversions (many investigators need these `raw' data to conduct their own inversions). The daily fitted NetCDF files resulting from the spherical harmonic fit and radial current density inversions are provided for both the north and south pole (Click here to download an idl reader for these NetCDF files).
The uncertainties in these values are typically 70 nT rms but can sometimes be larger. We are presently working to improve the zero-level baselines for these data and revisions will be released when they are available. Thank you for your interest in AMPERE and please let us know about your study, your publications and presentations. We're always glad to help if you have any questions.
In addition to the raw dB and fitted data, the data files used to generate the daily/monthly AMPERE ΔB Survey and Total Current products are also provided.
